Architecture and art history
Architecture, design and art history: term papers and essays
Theory courses in architecture and design programmes ask for more than facts: you have to compare styles, explain how form follows function and read the urban environment. Papers are prepared by an architect with a master’s degree and years of university teaching and practice.
Subjects
- history of architecture: styles, periods, architects and buildings
- history of design: movements, schools, designers and objects
- history of art: movements, artists and analysis of works
- environmental design: the urban environment, public space, street furniture and installations
What is included
- refining the topic and an outline based on your guidelines
- architecture and art history literature, not just websites
- analysis of buildings, objects and styles rather than description
